Another great day

Today was a good day.  We seem to have a lot of those together. We went to ikea and I spun you around in the cart and you loved it. You giggled and smiled. It was so cute! Then we went to pick up Maddie at volleyball. You had a great time chasing and throwing the volleyballs. You do this super adorable thing with your arms when you run. The right swings like crazy and the left is glued to your side. You love hearing the sound of your feet hitting the ground and you'll take a million steps to get a couple of feet just to hear them. After volleyball we came home for a bit then I took you to crossfit. You slept the whole time! Thanks for that. ;)  Then we went home and got there in time to see the crop duster. You love watching it.  It was a great day of cute happy moments and I love you so much!

In a Parade

A couple of weekends ago we went to Dallas for Maddie's volleyball tournament.  It wasn't a very good showing for her team.  They lost all their games on the first two days.  Thankfully we had you there to make us smile.  You are such a happy girl and not only make us smile, but make everyone around you smile.  You sit in your stroller and wave to everyone that walks by and I mean EVERYONE.  You are such a ray of sunshine and everyone loves you!

Grateful for You!

The other day at my meeting we had to go around and say things we were grateful for. I said I was grateful for you!  You have added so much joy to our lives. You make me laugh and smile everyday.  You are learning things so fast!  You understand so much and blow me away when I say something to you and you do it!  You love to go on walks in the stroller.  We can be out for an hour our so as long as you have your bottle and blankie.

Speaking of the bottle...man, I don't know how we are ever going to break you of that!  You love it so much and I'm not sure why.  I think it is a comforting to you like a blanket.  Sometimes you call out babababababa over and over and over until you get one.  Then sometimes you'll only take a sip!  It's kind of cute when you keep going, but kind of annoying too!  You are learning how to drink out of other types of cups too.  Right now we're trying to get you to use a cup with a straw.  You do pretty well until you take a sip and then let it dribble out of your mouth and soak your shirt.  I've tried letting you drink out of a regular cup, but you see your Gaga reach in a grab ice, so now you think it's okay to reach into our drinks!  Hopefully we get you off the bottle soon!

A New Year

Oh my Emme girl.  You have made my world bright.  Your smile, your laugh, your energy...you are going to keep me young!

It is a new year, January 3, 2016 and I'm starting a blog dedicated just to you!  Right now you are asleep in your bed taking a nap.  You are not a good sleeper at night.  You've been waking up 2 times a night around 2 am and 5 am.  I'm not sure if your sleep schedule is off because of the break or what, but I hope you get it fixed when I go back to work tomorrow!

You are so close to learning how to walk.  You can stand on your own and today you even took a step or two.  Maddie swears you took three, but I didn't see it, so who knows if you really did.  :)  Right now you are into playing with your blocks and putting anything and everything in your mouth!

You have a few nicknames already.  Daddy calls you Little E and I call you My Emme.  Daddy used to call you Plumpster because you were a big girl, so now Kate calls you that a lot.  Sometimes we call you Emmels.  We have been singing that song Emme, Emme, bo bemme, banana fanana fo femme, so we sometimes call you Bo Bemmels.  I know...it's strange.  It's even stranger now that I've seen it in writing!

We sing some songs to you, too.  Emmeline Nicole, Emmeline Nicole, E-M-M-E-L-I-N-E, Emmeline Nicole, Emme Nicole Waak.

Maddie made up a song to the tune of Can't Touch This.  E-M-M-E-L-I-N-E Can't touch this.
She's so silly!

Speaking of Maddie...she loves you so much!  She had you in her room today while I finished up some stuff on the computer and I walked in on a Maddie and Emme dance party.  It was too funny.

Well, I need to finish up getting ready for school tomorrow.  :(  I have to go back to work after the break.  The thing I'm going to miss most about having time off is being with you and your sisters!

Love,
Mom

Randomness

Emme Nicole you need to sleep!  You are still not sleeping through the night and you are almost 1!  We used to have some good nights where you would sleep through, but not lately!  I don't know if it's because of the move to Gaga and Papa's house or because you are teething or because you are not feeling well.  I just hope we get through it soon.  I know that it is a phase and it too shall pass.  When you are an adult and living on your own I know that I will miss the nights you woke us up.

You are a bundle of joy.  That sounds so cliche but it is true. You are such a happy girl and you make everyone around you smile.  Right now you are loving that you can walk.  You started walking about 3 weeks ago and you haven't slowed down since.  You love to crawl up the stairs and get mad at me when I go up without you.  When we get to the top with about two or three steps left, you turn around and start to head down.  You would go up and down up and down if we let you.

Right now you can say mama, dada, baba (for your bottle), gaga, dog (but it is more like gaw), hot and you understand a ton.  You seem to be a very smart little girl!

You love to play your saxophone.  You love to eat paper. You do great in the stroller for walks. In fact, you almost always fall asleep.  You like your swing which we use a lot in the evening when you start to get fussy.  One thing you do not like right now is my super comfy rocking chair.  You know that when we get you in that chair with your bottle that it is night night time and you fuss and fuss.  You would rather stagger around half asleep than fall asleep.  I guess you think you are going to miss something!

You have 7 teeth right now and you are doing a good job eating real food.  Well, sometimes.  Last night you would not eat, you just wanted to fuss and drink a bottle. I think it's because you're not feeling well.

Anyway, I'm at work right now, so I better actually get some work done.  I love you so much and I wish you knew just how much!

Love,

Mom
